Stacy is an Oxford Certified Punch Needle Instructor. She was taught by Kelly Wright, whose mindful approach to fiber art complemented Stacy’s background in social work. Stacy learned how to punch needle in 2018, and then added traditional rug hooking in 2022. She was Oxford Certified in 2024.

During the pandemic years, the meditative pace of the craft helped her cope with the stressful moments. She went on to open an Etsy shop and shares her work on Instagram as @squirrelsnesttextiles.

Raised by a woodworker and quilter, Stacy has long appreciated the art of handmade items intended for everyday enjoyment. She believes that punch needle hooking is accessible, therapeutic, and fun.

Stacy lives in Eastern Massachusetts with her husband, two teenagers, and a dog. She enjoys spending summer days on a small Maine lake in a cabin called “Squirrel’s Nest.”
